Next Australian federal election

Welcome to the Tally Room’s guide to the next Australian federal election. This guide includes comprehensive coverage of each seat’s history, geography, political situation and results of the 2019 election, as well as maps and tables showing those results.

This guide is a work in progress – at the moment it covers the 97 federal electorates in states and territories unaffected by redistributions. The guides for Victorian and Western Australian electorates will be prepared once the redistributions are finalised in late July and early August.

The guide will also feature guides to the eight Senate contests.

For now, this guide is only available for people who donate at least $5 per month to The Tally Room via Patreon, although a small number of guides will be released for free access. The whole guide will eventually be released for free access, no later than when the election is called, but it can.

Local electorate profiles

Profiles have been produced for 97 out of 151 House of Representatives electorates. This covers every electorate in New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania and the territories. Electorate guides for Victorian and Western Australian electorates will be produced once the redistribution is finalised.

You can use the following navigation to click through to each seat’s profile, or look at the box on the right-hand side panel to see the ten most recent profiles posted.

You can use the following map to click on any lower house seat, and then click through to the relevant guide where available.

So far I have released the following three guides for free access for non-donors:
