2028 Australian federal election

Welcome to the Tally Room’s guide to the next Australian federal election. This guide will include comprehensive coverage of each seat’s history, geography, political situation and results of the 2025 election, as well as maps and tables showing those results.

On this page you can find links to each individual profile for 102 out of 150 House of Representatives electorates (those unaffected by redistributions), and the Senate contests in the six states and the two territories.

This guide is based on boundaries that will be used if the parliament remains at its current size. If the parliament is expanded, these seat guides will need to be rewritten.

This election guide will be a big project. If you appreciate this work please consider signing up as a patron of this website via Patreon.

Local electorate profiles

Profiles have been produced for 102 out of 150 House of Representatives electorates: those in New South Wales, Victoria, Western Australia and the Northern Territory.

Redistributions are underway or will be held later in Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania and the Australian Capital Territory. Profiles for electorates in these states will be completed once the redistributions are finalised.

If the size of parliament is expanded in this term, substantial redistributions will be required in all mainland states, in which case the information in all but two of these profiles will need to be completely updated. This guide is provided in case the parliament is not expanded.

You can use the following navigation to click through to each seat’s profile:

You can use the following map to click on any lower house seat, and then click through to the relevant guide where available.

Senate profiles

Profiles have been written for the Senate races in all six states and both territories.
