Geography
Outer northern Melbourne. Mill Park covers southern parts of the City of Whittlesea, specifically parts of Epping, Mill Park, South Morang and Wollert.

Redistribution
Part of South Morang was shifted from Mill Park to Yan Yean.

History
The electoral district of Mill Park was first created prior to the 1992 redistribution. It has been won by the ALP at all five elections since its creation.

Mill Park was first won in 1992 by Alex Andrianopoulos who had held the seat of St Albans since 1985, before his district was abolished in 1992. He was elected Speaker of the Legislative Assembly after the ALP’s election win in 1999 and served in the role until his retirement in 2002.

Andrianopoulos was succeeded in 2002 by his former electorate officer Lily D’Ambrosio. D’Ambrosio has been re-elected four times.

  1. They almost outperformed the Greens! I guess the relatively small field of candidates (especially compared to other seats where right-wing minor parties would be expected to perform well) helped the Freedom Party’s primary vote here too.
