I would not compare Deakin to Bennelong it is more a middle to outer ring suburbs so a Sydney anology for Deakin would Parts of Banks mxied with the Hughes part of the Sutherland Shire. The best anology for Bennelong would be Chisholm which is inner to middle suburbia. This seat on current boundaries would not have been won in 2007 or 2010. Before that Deakin was only ever won by Labor once in 1983 landslide so this is an important victory espeically as they are unlikely to win Casey or Flinders ever again which they won in 1983 landslide.
