With the Victorian state election coming up, and the first Tally Room live show, I thought I would have a go at making some merchandise for the Tally Room.
This is the first time we’ve ever done this, and I’m not yet clear on how much demand there might be. So these items will only be available for a limited time, and based on orders we will know how many to produce and send out.
Orders must be in by Monday November 2. I hope this will allow for any merch to reach you by the time of the Victorian election at the end of November.
The store can be found at the ‘shop’ link on the top menu of the website, or by clicking here.
We’re keeping it simple – there’s one tote bag and one hat.
The bag has the slogan ‘Single Transferable Tote’ and the Tally Room logo. It is for sale for $30.
The hat has the slogan ‘Waiting for the pre-polls’ and is for sale for $40.
Shipping will be a flat fee of $10.
As always the Tally Room is supported by you, the reader, mostly through Patreon subscriptions. Any profits from the sale of these items would help allow me to spend more time doing the analysis and reporting on this site. Recently I’ve really enjoyed doing the research for my election history podcast series. I have a lot more ideas for those but I probably need a boost to my income to have the time to make more.
If these items sell well, I may be able to have some available for sale at the Melbourne show – but pre-ordering now is the only way to guarantee you’ll get something. If this goes well, I may do a future run of merch for other elections, but only if readers think this is worth supporting now.
So please go have a look and buy something!
Thanks to everyone on the Discord who helped me workshop some ideas for products, and to Dale Harrison who has pulled together the store and worked out production and distribution.
