Supporting the Tally Room

We’re about to enter another busy period in Australian elections. The Northern Territory votes next Saturday, followed by the ACT, Queensland and Victorian local councils in October. We also have a Western Australian state election in March, and a federal election could be held as early as August 2021.

This website, and the associated podcast, relies on the support of readers like you who pledge to donate a small amount of money per month.

It’s been a while since I’ve gone around rattling the can so I thought now was a good time to do so. Boosting the number of patrons would be very handy at this busy time in giving me the capacity to finish all of the seat guides I am currently working on while still running the podcast.

I am currently planning episode #40 of the podcast – due to come out late next week prior to the NT election. I have plans for episodes all the way up to #48 near the end of this year.

I am also well under way in finishing my guide to the Queensland election, following which I’ll put together the smaller guide to the ACT election. And I’m hoping to be able to complete an updated map of Victorian council wards before their election in late October – a large number of councils in metropolitan Melbourne underwent ward changes.

So your support would be a big help.

And I’ve also set myself a stretch goal if I can lift my patrons to 150 – I am still looking forward to starting a podcast on the history of Australian elections. But that will require quite a big time investment to read up properly on the stories I want to tell, so it hasn’t yet been possible.

If you find this website useful and interesting, please join up. You can support from as little as USD$1 per month, although supporting with USD$5 per month gets you occasional updates on work-in-progress as well as heads-up when new projects are being published.

  1. Hi Ben,

I would like to pay as I see fit rather than this trickle payment system. Can you please provide a BSB and Account number so I can pay $50 or $ 100 PA a few more times a year. My bills for utilities, council rates, insurance and club subscription (RSL, RUSI, Triumph Car Club etc) are paid in this way.

    Regards, Adrian Jackson
