Geography
Eastern Melbourne. Bulleen covers western parts of the City of Manningham, specifically the suburbs of Bulleen, Deep Creek, Doncaster, Lower Templestowe and Templestowe and parts of Doncaster East.
History
Bulleen was first created before the 1985 election. It has always been held by the Liberal Party. Bulleen was first won in 1985 by David Perrin. He served as a shadow minister from 1988 to 1991, but did not serve as a minister in the Kennett government. Perrin lost preselection at the 1999 election to Nicholas Kotsiras.
Kotsiras was re-elected three times, and retired in 2014.
Matthew Guy won Bulleen in 2014. Guy had served as a member of the Legislative Council since 2006, and had served as Minister for Planning in the Liberal government from 2010 until 2014. Guy was elected leader of the Liberal Party following the 2014 election. He led the party to a landslide defeat in 2018 but retained his seat.
Guy stepped down from the Liberal leadership following the 2018 election but returned to the role in late 2021. Guy led the Coalition to defeat again in 2022, and stepped down from the leadership shortly after.

Assessment
The Liberal Party’s position in Bulleen should be relatively solid, but One Nation may grab a significant chunk of the Liberal vote.

The Liberal Party won a majority of the two-party-preferred vote in all three areas on election day, ranging from 54.4% in the west to 55.9% in the south-east.
The Greens came third, with a primary vote ranging from 10.8% in the west and 12.3% in the south-east.

Matthew Guy has high name recognition so I would say Liberal hold.
Yeah I don’t see the Liberals losing any seats to Labor this time around, but Bulleen in particular would be near the bottom of the list.
Labor won Menzies for the first time in history federally but this seat won’t be falling to Labor anytime soon. Matthew Guy needs to go though. After two landslide defeats as leader in a row, his time in politics should be up.
MenIes was lost off the back of a disastrous federal campaign by the liberal party. And an unfavourable redistribution. On the old boundaries wolahan would of held. If wolahan recontest in 2028 he’d be favourite to win it back. Matthew Guy will probably still hang around for a lil while
This seat will still be Liberal held on Federal results. Menzies goes into Whitehorse which is why Labor won it just barely.
With so many long serving MPs serving well past their due date retiring when is it Matthew Guy’s turn?
It’s possible however a lot of MP who severed as minsters in the previous Liberal government are now all retiring which means there is a brain drain of experience now.
