  1. Of interest
There was a seat named North Sydney which was a marginal alp seat won in the 1940s 1950s and early 1960s.
This and a marginal liberal seat were
Amalgamated to give Kirribilli (excuse spelling) which started as a marginal liberal seat.

  2. Mick
I remember reading somewhere that the demolition for the construction of the Warringah Expressway in the mid 1960s also demolished the North Sydney working class – and hence the Labor presence in the area.

  3. The other seat was neutral Bay which was a safe liberal seat.
Kirribilli was marginal at its creation…first election
    And in 1978..alp landslide

  4. I don’t think the Liberals are in danger, Felicity Wilson appears quite moderate on social issues which should cut through enough with a younger, more tealish demographic, coupled with the fact the Liberals in NSW have stayed away from culture wars and focusing on actual issues in the state.

The only dark horse I could see is Kylea Tink running a serious campaign, though I don’t remember if she lives within the North Shore electorate. Nonetheless she would be a strong candidate.

  5. If Kylea Tink really wanted to run, Willoughby would be a better bet. Not only is it closer to her home but it’s also got a lower margin.

  6. @Votante – agreed, especially considering Tim James is more conservative than Felicity Wilson and may have a hard time cutting through with tealish voters.

  7. @James, Willoughby is more multicultural especially in Chatswood. Connecting with multicultural communities is vital. The teal-ish parts are Artarmon and St Leonards and in North Sydney LGA more broadly. In the old Willoughby thread, there was mention that Tim James invited Senator Jacinta Price to headline a fundraiser.
