This was the only seat in the country to have 5 candidates crack double-digit percentages of the vote this year:
Liberals – 34.45%
Labor – 21.06%
WA Nationals – 12.80%
One Nation – 11.04%
Greens – 10.00%
Such a result didn’t even happen in Calwell or Monash, and those seats were rather messy with the counting.
Also of interest- none of the state seats are now liberal. 1.5 ALP 3.5 Nat.
@nick nor were they since 2021
The Liberals came close in Albany, until their candidate started talking.
albany did also take in some nat voting territory and that helped him as well. now that labor is without a sitting members personal vote its hard to see them winning it again anytime soon
Peter Watson had a big personal vote minus this the seat was difficult to win.
The landslide helped the alp.win.but post that the seat reverted to normal and was lost by Labor.
