Result map – Central Coast

2

Today I’m looking at the four seats of the Central Coast, with particular interest in Terrigal – the only Liberal seat on the Coast, but also a surprisingly close result in 2023 when a large swing almost flipped a seat that had been completely off the radar prior to election night.

Swing data thanks to William Bowe’s estimates of 2019 results by 2023 polling place.

This map shows Gosford, The Entrance, Terrigal and Wyong.

Terrigal stands out very clearly on the swing map with the swings to Labor generally being larger. It looks like Labor gained a double-digit swing in every Terrigal booth. Swings were patchy in the other seats and were particularly small in The Entrance.

This swing produced a result where Labor won quite a few booths in Terrigal. There’s not much evidence of a geographic trend of Labor winning in particular areas.
