  1. I live in Eagleby and I have voted labor all my life. I am now gonna vote for Cobb because he is the only real chance for us. I reckon libs are no chance in my area because of the bloody posh look down your nose at evrything. my vote counts and I am going for Cobb

  2. I would like to see some post-mortem comments from the KAP and DLP. What went wrong? What would you do different next time?

  3. Thanks Katie for the question! Simply put the LNP party machine was too big. From the five candidates only Cobb and I actively campaigned let alone campaigned at all. I visited all booths during the day and saw the LNP in action and it made me realize why I quit a major party in 2010. At most booths the LNP workers were never mentioning Crandon’s name but rather “Vote 1 Campbell Newman” and than bagging Crandon out as long as the man himself was not on the booth. It just seemed that the equation in the heads of voters yesterday was

CAMPBELL NEWMAN = NOT ANNA BLIGH

Let’s just see how a State can run with a Government of 71 members. Interesting times ahead

  4. To all of the people who supported both myself and the Katter’s Australian Party a massive thank you. I know that we put in a real effort and we did not win. That is not just politics but life. So many great people met along the way and neither I nor the KAP ever gave up. As for the blogger MDMConnell I recall many years ago I was watching Wally Lewis play and there was this annoying spectator sitting in the grandstand yelling out how Wally couldn’t tackle and how Wally would never have made it in Sydney. A coward sitting in row 7 of the grandstand commenting on someone playing footy. The sideline heroes like MDMConnel who never participate or try anything themselves but live hiding behind others reminds me of why i went into this election. I wanted to try and make a difference. OK I did not win but I tried. That is what the KAP is all about. Decent fellas having a go. The sun came up today, I played with the kids and mowed the lawn. What did you do MDMConnell? Your sad lonely existence begins again until the next election at which stage you can yell out more advice for people who actually do something.

  5. Geez if a prospective MP gets huffy about commentary on a friggin blog, it’s probably best they didn’t have to front up to the bearpit of Queensland Parliament.

I hope for Peter Cobb’s sake that the above post was really Terrence or Dave posting under a false name. Cetainly has the same feel to it. Or perhaps “Terrence” and “Dave” were Peter Cobb all along?

Final irony: KAP supporters have anonymously posted dozens of abuse laden borderline-coherent rants attacking other candidates and commenters, here and on other seats. Makes the accusation of being shrill cowards sooking from the sidelines seem rather moot doesn’t it?

This seat’s commentary certainly ended up alot more fun than I (and I suspect many others) thought it was going to be.

  6. Have to agree with MDMConnell, the Terrence and other crazy people on here spend their hours abusing people who support the LNP, well the figures speak for themself in Coomera. Whether Michael Crandon is supported as an MP or not, he was still re-elected with an overwhelming majority. People wanted change, and knew KAP didn’t represent the change they needed.
