Actually, from a Leg Council point of view, running in Moyes for FFP means that a relatively “reasonable” christian candidate is elected, as opposed to some of the other potentials. Moyes has at times ended up on the opposition benches with the Greens while everybody else (including Shooters and CDP ends up voting with the Govt on things like Part 3A of the planning legislation, relaxing the gun laws in NSW and so on. Sure Moyes is still a social conservative, but he is at least open to reason, as opposed to Nile who has sold his soul to the ALP (or Steve Fielding who is just out there).

Moving to Family First – how are family first any less anti gay (and possibly anti-muslim) than the CDP? It seems like Moyes might be jumping out of an anti gay frying pan into an anti gay fire…

Yeah, I’ve seen those Rohan Fitzgerald ads around.

I’m not suggesting anything, but you can click on them, it doesn’t cost you anything, but it costs the Liberals (or whoever is paying for them) money and gets me some!

I am USUALLY a loving kind person but when it comes to Fred Nile and his Not Christian Homophobic Party and ANYONE to do with the “Certain” Families Party , then I cannot wait until they disappear off the face of the earth or even better meet their supposed Maker, somewhere else!!!!!

Ian Hancock’s history of the Liberal organisation in NSW shows the remarkable persistence of a radical right milieu over decades that overlaps Liberals, Fred Nile and sundry independents. The Darby family have been central to this. Why is the far right so strong in NSW? Is it a product of Labor’s dominance?

I’m not so sure. My understanding of Fred Nile is his whole life is wrapped around his career as an MLC, and his plan is probably to die in office.

But either way, we’ll probably see the back of him in 2015.
